Poundcake and True Blood!

I absolutely love to cook even though I don't know how. LOL! I'm slowly learning and one of my favorite websites is for great recipes. Adrienne's pound cake looked so good so I had to try it. It was the best pound cake I ever had! I've made it twice so far and everyone loved it at my dinner party. I managed to take a picture of the second one before everyone sliced into it.

I've decided to pay it forward and post a recipe from Pattie Labelle's Lite Cuisine Cookbook. It is so juicy and delicious! I promise you guys will love it!

One 3 1/2 to 4 lb. chicken
1 lemon, pierced all over with a fork
4 garlic cloves, smashed
1/2 cup lite Caesar dressing (not creamy)
2 tsp. rotisserie chicken seasoning
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Rinse chicken and cavity in cold water and pat dry.

Put the lemon and garlic inside chicken

In a small bowl, mix the Caesar dressing, seasonings, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Brush mixture all over chicken.

Place chicken side down on a rack in a roasting pan for 20 minutes.

Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Turn the chicken breast side up on the rack and brush all over with seasoning mixture. Roast, brushing with the mixture two more times, until a instant read thermometer reads 165 F when inserted to the thigh and juices run clear, 35 to 40 minutes more.

Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

So True Blood (my favorite show) season 2 starts tonight and I'm so excited! I'm assuming my favorite character Lafayette's fate will be shown tonight so I've been counting down for a few months now. Here is a clip of one my favorite scenes. VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED!!

I had no idea that True Blood came from a book series. At any rate, I just learned the show is now straying from the books in relation to the Lafayette cliff hanger from last Season. He is EVERYBODY's favorite character.

You have a great blog. I'd love for you to come and visit my blog. I just made a Vintage Vogue Original 1944 Design, V2858. On the previous page you'll find a dress I made from an original 1974 pattern that I found in an antique store. I call that post The Lady in Lavender. And lots of other things in between. Hope you enjoy.
